THE ANC VETERANS LEAGUE CONGRATULATES OUR RUGBY TEAM FOR WINNING THE WORLD CUP

South African captain Siya Kolisi holds the Webb Ellis Cup aloft with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa after South Africa defeated England to win the Rugby World Cup final at International Yokohama Stadium in Yokohama, Japan.

The ANC Veterans League joins the nation in congratulating our rugby team for an outstanding performance in Japan and in securing the World Cup .

We stand proudly today as a nation united in a spirit of Ubuntu by our team reflecting the Rainbow Nation we as South Africans aspire to . It was a victory for Africa in the spirit of Zola Budd who proudly ran onto the field and held the hand of the Kenyan in parading round the stadium celebrating an African victory .

We also note with much concern those politicising this victory in terms of Black and White which is an antithesis to the mood of a nation united in their spirit of South Africanism celebrating as one. Thank you ama Bokke Bokke. Today we stand proud with our spirits reaching new heights in a moment of euphoria at this critical juncture of our hard won gains.
